OUR FINDINGS

Well, we went out with our recorders, our videocameras, our digital cameras, in search of the paranormal.

Here is what we found.

On Friday the 13th, of March, 2009, EMPS officially did it's first investigation.  In attendance were Mr. Mark Mills, Mr. Richard Blevins, Mr. Robert Frederick, and Ms. Maria Zimmerman. The target was the Old Nassawango Cemetery, located in the heart of the Pocomoke Forest. We hit that and 5 Bridges Road, which is supposedly the site of many hauntings and abnormalities. Our main concentration, however, was on the cemetery. It was a cold and rainy night, following a cold day. I mention this because in the photos we took in places where our team was feeling that activity was going on you will notice a mist. Let me be the first to say that in actual physical eyesight, there was no mist. We took care in taking the pictures to ensure that no "breath" from the team made itself maniest in the photo. While the "orb" like phenomenon in the pictures can be easily attributed to rain, the mist cannot be so easily explained, since the only place it manifested was in the photos. Later, as we travelled on 5 Bridges Road, we noticed a "rolling mist" coming from nowhere and hovering in many places low to the ground.
I will start with the most interesting phenomena, moving on to the regular.

The picture above was taken on the Pusey Branch Nature Trail, which runs behind the cemetery itself. On a previous trip, before we became any kind of official group, we had done a half serious, half for fun investigation here. While there, we heard voices, people running in front of and behind us, enough to get us, at that time, off of that trail.
This trip, with our digital voice recorders and camera's, we made the trail a focus for our investigation. We were doing EVP, simple questions and answers, when the whole group started to feel that something may have been going on. I heard, once again, the sound of something moving on a piece of high ground behind us. I turned around to listen more, and heard the movement and a very low murmur of what could have been voices. I then told one of our team members to switch the focus of the EVP recordings to that area. As she did, I took the picture above. It should be noted, that to our physical eyesight, there was no mist present. As well, there was a marked tempature drop during this time, and Mark, one of the founders of the EMPS, noticed a bright flash of light directly in front of him. A peculiararity in the mist, while keeping in mind the theory of patternization, can be observed in the lower right corner of the mist. A head and eyes can be made out. Just something to think about.....

Now this one still has us guessing. Keeping in mind that it was raining that night, we had agreed to dismiss all objects which could have been seen as orbs. But this one has us baffled a bit. If you notice, the light in the upper right corner is not coming down, like rain, but is leaving a light trail going UP. As well, it seems to not be reflecting, but radiating it's own light. As well, this picture was taken at eye level. I am 6'5. So this was up way higher than a raindrop could bounce after striking the ground, not to mention that it was not raining that hard.

Altogether, so far, some mist and a light anomoly are not enough for us to classify the Nasssawango Old Cemetery as a haunted location. While tempting, there is simply not enough evidence as of yet.
We hope to return in the near future to the cemetery, during more favorable weather conditions, to take another look.

As always, keep in mind that just because we do not know everything about something does not man we are experts in it, or that it doe's not exist. Keep your mind open, and your eyes sharp. You never know.......
